I'm looking at getting a patio laid out the back (as its just hardcore), its about 7x5 metres, but I have no idea how much to expect.
before I get some quotes in, can someone give me an idea of how much it should roughly be?
thanks

looks like you will pay between 40 and 50 per square metre, putting you at around 1,500 for your patio. Of course it depends on the quality of the paving slabs!
That's about right. Generally you can reckon on paying double the price of the "raw" paving slab. This extra pays for the sub-base materials, and the labour of making the sub-base and laying the slabs. There are many different sorts of slabs - look for Marshalls, Bradstone and Bowland Stone as possible makes. Choose your own slab, then ask your selected contractor to quote against that specific slab. Slabs cost between 18 to 30 per square metre "raw" material cost.
