Bamboo plant

Just bought a bamboo branch in a pot of water, how quick can i expect it to grow as i believe they are really fast in the wild

I bought 3 decorative 'cut flower' type branches last July. They have been kept in water ever since but about 3 months after I bought them I noticed roots as well as shoots from the top. I haven't planted them as I wanted to keep them in a vase.

I've had a bamboo plant in a large tub outside for 3 years now and it hasn't grown an inch.

I think that the things that you are talking about are not bamboo actually, but a type of yucca. Kept just in water, they don't grow much at all
