Up and Over Garage Door

Have also posted in 'How it Works'. Advice please about removing our up and over garage door to replace rotted wooden surround. Not sure if we will be able to do this and then replace it without professional help. Any ABers ever managed this, please?

Hi oldmegan - I know nothing about how to refit garage doors, but saw your Q & just had to post.

An aquaintance of ours was removing an up & over garage door, when one of the springs at the side flipped off & hit him in the face. He was rushed to hospital, but they were unable to save his eye. He now has a prothsetic eye & regrets not getting in the professionals to replace the garage door.
