I want to replace my mira sport shower. How can I find out what models I can replace it with? I know there is different sizes of cable but I dont know how to check which one I currently have or which ones a new shower has.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Go to a local hardware shop and get them to cut a couple of inches of cable off for you - of 6mm and 10mm twin and earth sizes. and compare with what you have.
6mm is only good for a shower up to 7KW and 10mm is for anything over 7kw.
there are certain circumstances that 7mm can be used for an 8kw but play it safe and use 10mm.
New showers are generally 8-11kw and should be wired with 10mm twin nd earth.
If you are not sure get an electrician in.

Thanks for your help!
Hi button, another thing to think about is Mira are one of, if not the best showers you can get, so replace it with another mira, then you won't have to alter the pipework or cable position, I would think the one you have is wired in 6mm twin/earth so stick to a shower of no more than 8.5kw, good luck, Ray

Thanks Raysparks
I actually really like the mira escape but it is 9.8w so it sounds like that wont be possible?
Hi button, yes you are correct if the one you like is 9.8 it will be to powerful for a 6mm cable, as woodchopper says get the size of cable you have, verified, then take it from there a 6mm is ok for up to 8.5kw as long as the run is no more than about 15 metres, but if I were you I would install another mira, one we use a lot is the "advance" it is slightly larger than the others but it is a great shower or maybe the "sprint" I think that is also about 8.5 good luck with whichever one you go for, Ray
