I would like to save iris rhizomes recently dug for a few days. Is it advisable to add a little peat moss to the plastic bags they are in?

If it's only going to be a few days before you replant I wouldn't worry too much, they survive quite well out of the ground. However I'd use a paper bag or sack with holes poked in it rather than plastic bags.
