14 x 14 = 196 / 3 = 65.3333 yards square but when i buy any materials i always add 10% to allow for any probs or curves in walls, it really depends on how square the room is.
charrlie (if I remember my maths correctly!) there are 9 sq feet in a sq yard...
that room is approx 5x5 yds = 25 sq yards

as carpets come in different widths (& are usually measured in sq metres) it's best to take a the exact measurements with you to the shop & they'll work it out...don't forget to include alcoves & door recesses.
3 feet to aq yard. you can check for yourself if you like type in google convert yard to feet and it comes up at top checked for you but try for yourself if you like
3ft in a yard. 9 feet in a square yard.

there's a carpet calculator
here

it actually works out at 21.7777 square yards so my estimate wasn't bad for an old brain...and you always need a bigger piece of carpet than the actual room size anyway.
I didn't want sixtiesfan to rush out to buy 65 sq yds of carpet! :o)
oops most sincere apologies i should have divided 14 x 3 lol. momentary brain fart i think lol
