We have just bought a house. Are we automatically with the electricity and gas companies that the previous owners were with? Nothing has come through the letterbox. If we want to change companies do we have to give a months notice to the current suppliers first then change or can we start now with a different company? Thanks.

You are automatically with the current suppliers and need to inform them if you change. Take meter readings as even if you stay with the same suppliers you do not want to pay any outstanding debt from the previous occupiers.
