I've just purchased a table top frezer brand new last Wednesday.

I switched it in Thursday after letting it settle, it was making a gurgling noise, and a ghostly whoo on top of that there is a whining noise - quite loud - I rang the manufacturers and they said it should sop in a day or two.

It is still very loud - you can hear it upstairs when there is no other noise.

After checking on Google there are some threads saying that newer freezers are louder because they are CFC free - but should it be as loud as it is?

i dont think home freezers should be loud, if it is too loud my advice would be to call the shop or the manufacturer for further details on what to do next.

Our old freezer made a lot of noise but we got a new one recently and it's really quiet - sometimes it doesn't sound as if it's on! It's frost-free so I don't know if that makes a difference.
