camelia buds not opening

Hi I have a lovely camelia must be about 5ft high it always has loads of lovely buds but this year that is as far as it got, the buds didnt open, just went brown dropped off or I have taken them off now what could be wrong the site of it or something else....?

Very likely the atrocious weather we had when the buds were forming and they may have got frosted and the sun shining on them would do it. Next year give `em` some TLC

Now this year my camelia was the best it has ever been.

You must keep it very well watered during the summer - allowing it to dry out this summer will cause the buds to drop off this year.

Yep, I'd agree with Ethel - the buds probably dropped off due to a lack of water.
