How difficult is it to wire an extension to a new socket from an existing one, is ther anywhere i can get a step by step guide

Surely, that`s easy enough to savvy. Humph.
The basic rule with electricity is 'if you have to ask then don't do it'.
You could invalidate your insurance if your DIY causes a fire. Electricians train for a long time to do the job. Don't mess with it XX

Thanks for all your replies, I will leave it to someone who knows what they are doing
It's alright wiring from one socket to another but you then have to do a proper electrical test, ie an Earth Loop Impedance and if you have an RCD on the circuit then you will also need to carry out a RCD test to make sure it trips within the time specified by the new IEE regs....
