Recently purchased a property, could not see the end of the garden when we viewed the property, having gone through the heavy growth and a large tree, we've found that the garden opposite has there small timber shed protruding into our garden by about 3feet,
how do we approuch this problem ? can we demolish the protruding amount ? are they able to remain on our side ?
we too want to erect a shed. we are willing to have it moved back into there garden at our cost and continue the fence.
This should have been pointed out to you when you purchased the property and your solicitor would have dealt with it, maybe a word with your solicitor, if he is friendly, would be appropriate.
On the other hand, I personally would approach your neighbour in a friendly way and inform him that you have just noticed that his shed is protuding into your property and ask if he would have it moved. I would offer him assistance but would not to contribute to the cost.
