No Hot Water!
4 Answers
My boiler went off last night, tried to reset it by turning the knob as it says, but although it is 'clicking' like it is trying to light, it is not actually getting there! The pump inside the immersion cupboard is hot so I know that is working, it is something stopping the ignition from catching/lighting.
Any idea on what it could be and how much I can expect to pay to get it sorted?

Does your boiler have a pilot light or is it automatic ignition??
A thermocouple ONLY works when it IS warm not vice versa, and you will only have a thermocouple if your boiler has a pilot light and not automatic ignition, if your boiler has a pilot light and it goes out the gas valve needs a few minutes to reset before you can relight it ( you can normally hear the gas valve click when it has reset )
How old is your boiler??
What make and model is it??
Have you tried looking in the fault finding section of your boiler instructions.
My ultimate advice would be to get in touch with a corgi regd plumber.

as scoob says could be a multitude of problems depending on what type of boiler it is.
quite often a good service will cure this type of problem, we only charge 40 for a basic service, if we found that any components needed replacing then we would discuss that with you at the time.
were in south birmingham and cover as far as solihull, redditch, bromsgrove etc if thats any help.
