My clothes always have a musty smell which are stored in drawers and shelves in the wardrobe. I always make sure they are dry before hand. There's no evidence of mold in either as they are new units. Other than buying scents to disguise the smells, can I buy Silica Gel for wardrobes or something similar? And does it work? Is there anything else I can use to absord any excess moisture?

You have damp somewhere. What kind of heating have u. How do things smell in the airing cupboard, where your boiler is?

I can't stand the smell of fabric softeners as clothes smell as if they still have washing powder on them. It's so strong that people smell of washing powder.
We had the same problem! We were told our house was too well insulated and moisture wasn't escaping even with the windows open.We bought a dehumidifier and it absorbs 2 pints of water a day from our house! At last no smelly clothes!
try putting a tumble dryer sheet ,one in each drawer or a dehumidifer in the room.
