glace lemon caps

I have been given some glace lemon caps and don't know how to use them. They are yellow but don't look like dried lemon or anything similar. They have the appearance of crystallized fruit and having had a taste, I found them incredibly sweet. Anyone used these before in a fruit cake or whatever? Thanks for any ideas.
