Have a BIG blob of wax that fell on my carpet and also on a rough brick wall.

IT's now hardened and if i try "pick" it out of the carpet bit of the carpet threads come off with it...

Any ideas?

I thought of reheating the wax with an iron and brown paper but worry this'll "spread" it further intot he carpet fibres.

Know it sounds drastic, but the brown paper worked for me. I managed to drop a huge red candle on a pale green carpet. It takes a bit of doing, make sure you have a lot of brown paper, and as soon as the heat has drawn the wax up onto the paper, use a fresh bit .Good luck !!!!

thanks both of you - the brown paper / iron has worked REALLY well. Not totally gone but...hardly noticable now!

the iron won't work on the rough brick wall next to the carpet but will try the hairdryer / brown paper like legendis suggested.
