Cutting a Roll
1 Answers
I've just opened a sealed 16oz (454g) pack of absorbent lint. It's the stuff that was used to dress wounds prior to non-adherent sterile dressings. The roll has a diameter of about 80mm.
I need to cut this roll in half fairly neatly but I'm not quite sure how to go about it.
It's too thick to cut with shears or scissors and I suspect these may fray the edges, which I'm trying to avoid. A Stanley knife also seems unlikely to succeed. Someone suggested trying one of the cutting blades in a Dremel, but I think this may also make a mess of the roll and be difficult to do accurately.
I also had a mad moment and thought of cutting it with my chop-saw but again I don't know what might happen.
Has anyone any other suggestions please?
Many thanks
