Are there any plumbers on here that could give me a very rough idea how much it will cost to have an intergrated washing machine disconnected, and a new on plumbed in.I know its a vey vague question, but only want a rough idea as i don`t have a clue :-( my old machine has died,so bought a new one. which is still in box in kitchen as day before hubby was going to fit it he broke his thumb :-( so need to weigh up cost of getting someone in to do it as apposed to 6 weeks worth of hand washing lol
Thanks in advance x

Ssssssss... < sucking air through teeth... 'it's difficult to say exactly luv... I won't be able to get the parts for a week or so anyway... any chance of another cuppa?' ;-)

Lol snagged, what makes it so funny is i can picture it happening lol many a true word spoken in jest as the say ;-)
Jest?! That scenario is in the official plumbers handbook lol... seriously... if the pipes etc. are already there from the previous machine, it shouldn't cost too much or take that long to install the new one - unless it is being put in a different part of the kitchen...

I'm sure a 'proper plumber' will answer soon... he's still sitting outside in his van reading The Sun at the mo...
Frankly if all you are doing is switching over one machine to another, all you need is a fully-qualified DIY (wo)man.
Plumbers = changing some of the fixed supply or soil pipes. Should not be required here.
All you've got to do here is turn the water off, unscrew the two flexible pipes (Hot and cold) and change them over, then do the same with the flexy water outlet - sometimes just hooked over into a discharge plastic pipe - sometimes connected using a jubilee clip.
This is definely within the scope of a job for a lady.
The hardest part may be the integrated elements - extracting the old machine and getting the height right on the new one. More a fitting job - not plumbing (at 250 per day).

Thanks buildersmate :-) the washing machine is next to dish washer and pipes go underneath,so like you say not complicated,my problem is the getting old machine out and new one in as i have back and hip problems that would make it difficult fo me to do it :-( and the tight fit makes it too risky for hubby as the hospital said he has snapped bone above top knuckle and if he bends it wrong way he will destroy the ligaments and possibly have to loose the top of his thumb, your advice had helped a lot as now im happy to find someone with a good diy knowledge as apposed to a qualified plumber do it.
Thank you x
Not all plumbers charge 250 per day.

My mate is a fully-qualified, self-employed plumber. He charges 10 per hour. His experience means that he'd probably do the job quicker (and hence cheaper) than most general workmen. (If you happen to be anywhere near to Stowmarket, I'll give you his phone number).

Thank you chris that is very kind, unfortunately in down on south coast, might have a look at the check a trade site, at least you can get some feedback from previous customers on there. Its just bad timming my hubby is really good normally at diy, and i do what my back allows,so we are both a bit miffed at having to get someone in lol but thanks for your help, its much appreciated
You would be looking at a cost of around 60 if your ok with re-fitting the door to save plumbers time. Material cost will be penny's.

Thank you ambassabuild, the door is no problem, i just cant pyhcically manover the old machine out, an new one in,so its just the moving and the plumbing, and had no idea whatsoever of cost.your reply was most helpful, thank you.
