This will sound silly, but here goes microwave turntable has stopped turning .Is it still okay to use it or is it in the bin and get a new one?

Hi mamyalynne,
you can still use it, you willl need to turn the food by hand though every whatever ,depending on the total cooking time. Just break up the time and turn whatever it is you are cooking.

you could train an army of ants to rotate the plate as the ants are too small to be cooked by the microwaves in an oven.

You may not be aware of it, but the first microwave ovens weren't even fitted with turntables. Doing as Sachs suggests would be fine.

Thanks all for your very helpful and inventive replies. Sorry for delay in response I usually get emails to tell me of replies but not this time??

Am told there's another fuse within the microwave that needs changing.
Is the turntable driven by a small belt from a motor, cause if it is then probably the belt has snapped....

Hey guess what i sprayed some WD40 where the central spindle sits and seems to be working now (no knobby no aftertaste to me ros bif leftovers) cheers all
