Where do old PC monitors go to die?!

Wasn't sure where to put this, I have an old style computor monitor, in perfect working order, unwanted since we upgraded to a flatscreen one. I've posted it twice on my local freecycle, but had no takers. I've had a look on websites that collect and send old PC's to third world countries, but they are geared up to businesses that are upgrading their whole system. So I guess the only option is to take it to the local recycling facility (ie the tip!)
What do they do with it though? there must be millions of these things, still working, still of use to someone, so if anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it, thanks, Slinky

There is - but no-one wants them - even for free.

Contact your local council refuse deprt., they will have a site that collects them for disposal, you can drop it there. (Not literally!)
Im about to do the same with a printer - seems so wasteful tho doesnt it
Try this: www.computersforcharities.co.uk
www.computersforcharities.co.uk state on their website that they only want TFT monitors.

We tried giving away CRT monitors previously but had no takers.
