Fixing screws in uPVC
Hi
I have a couple of uPVC doors and these are secured on closing by a number of brass fixings about 2 inches in length which are affixed to the frame round the door. These fixings are attached by means of a normal screw.Over time the screws are becoming looser and the screw holes are enlarging, making the fixing loose and preventing the doors from closing. I would like to now if there is any method of filling the holes so that the screws can be refitted properly.

It sounds like the door hinges were attatched to the door frame using self-tapping screws, which would seem inappropriate for such a load. You could try using larger self-tapping screws, which will give a little more 'grip' than smaller screws, but for you might need to add a few extra hinges, to spread the load. Or, you could use a special bolt that fits inside the hollow part, a bit like the screws you can get for plasterboard, but for uPVC.
