I have spied a derelict house, its completely bricked up and the garden is overgrown. I have checked government records and it appears to have been vacant since 1995.

I am quite interested in this property and was wondering how you would go about the 'possibility' of purchasing such a building.

Does anyone know or have any good pointers?

many thanks

You can find out who owns it by paying the Land Registry here 3. You'll need the postcode, though. Should be able to get that from the Royal Mail website.

Only works if the land is registered though.
Otherwise ask around the locals who owns it.

I did ask around buildersmate. Apparently the property was owned and rented out until around 1995 but the neighbours are relatively new and dont know who the landlord/owner was. Unfortunately it is in a rural location and there only are two neighbours so I came to a dead end with that one.

However I have put in a call to an old colleague in Land Registers so fingers crossed.
