soundproofing????noisy neighbours...

Hi, can anyone tell me if it is posible to sound proof your walls so you can not hear noisy neighbours?...is there anything that can be done to block out noise!

A friend of mine has had a similar problem, so he called in an acoustic engineer. To cut a long story short, it would have cost over �6,000 to have the party wall sound proofed, & that was just the hall, stairs & landing!
BTW, have you had a word with your heighbours regarding the noise?

apart from bubble wrap taped round the head why dont you call the council if they are noisy?
