I have a rot problem in my shed. Just below the window the wood is rotten where the rain has seeped in, and I have dug out most of the rotten wood and am thinking that instead of going through all the trouble of trying to fix it, I would fill the hole with wood hardener.......if it`s still available in the DIY stores. Does anyone know if it is?

There is a treatment I used when I had wood window frames. You get rid of all the rotten wood, paint over the remaining wood with a hardener, fill in the gaps with a 2 part filler, and drill a hole int existing wood and insert a preservative tablet. It seemed to work. I think it was from Cuprinol but can't remeber what it was called.

Thanks Johnk, I`ve bought some Wood Hardener from Superbuys this morning, and some filler from Wick`s, so I`l go and start work.
If it's not too late and you can DIY. You should replace all the dead wood and under the window but on top of the wooden sill you should fit an angle strip of copper the full length of the window sill. One leg straight down outside and one leg horizontally under window, this prevents water seeping in and will last longer than the shed does.
