Hi Has anyone else ever had the internel glass of a roof panel explode ( leaving the outside one intact) My installer says they have never seen anything like it, must have damaged it myself so will charge. On the other hand my insurance company says its common.

Hi, we had an internal glass panel explode in our conservatory on the 1st July this year. Am currently trying to get the company to fix it under warranty but they seem very resistant! Apparently it never happens! Basically we're having exactly the same problem as you. Who installed your conservatory and roughly how old is it? Our insurance company has said the same as yours in terms of it being a common occurrence. Also we've had a lot of our furniture damaged when it happened so I'm trying to claim for that from the installer as well. Would be great to compare notes further as it may help us both in the long run. I have lots of photos that I can share if needed. Cheers, Chris
We had new double glazing fitted a while ago and one of the rear windows (inner pane) cracked in a semi-circle shape without anyone having ever touched it. As it didn't actually explode/shatter our landlord decided not to replace it.
Yes I had one explode last year. Company argued at first but eventually replaced it. This morning another panel exploded and am waiting for installer to call in this weekend
