Yes it's that time of year again and we have had many barbecues over the years, I usually use the instant lighting bags, but my friend decided to use briquettes and the liquid lighting fluid which took flipping ages for a start, I'm now left with stains on my concrete floor and don't know how to get them out, does anyone have any suggestions that won't melt away the concrete, but clean off the stains effectively?

Helpmeout, I presume your concrete floor is outside. I think you can get proprietary cleaners for these sorts of stains in good hardware shops. Can you borrow one of those high-power washers from someone - or hire a machine? What sort of stains - from the ashes? Or the liquid lighting fluid.

OH is in charge of the barbie in our house and he uses briquettes for one of the barbecues and normal barbie coals for the other. He always uses one of those "chimney" accessories that you can buy to light the coals - they are not that expensive - with a few of those little lighter brick things, never lighting fluid - and he's never had a failure!
