My attempt at growing the giant white radish - Mooli - has met with almost complete failure. Can anyone suggest where I have gone wrong?

The seeds germinated well in a large container and were thinned as necessary but the plants produced a mass of leggy foliage and quickly flowered and have now started to set seeds. When picked the mooli are very small and appear to have been attacked!

Any advice for next years attempt?

Perhaps they were sown too early?

Quote: "Most of these types are sown in May through July as earlier sowings will tend to bolt."
