just wondering, if there are any general rules when building in a shared garden.
My partner and i bought our flat with a shared garden. we are on the ground floor and would like to erect a conservatory, it would only be small and it wouldnt block out light etc.
We understand we would need planning permission and things but i just wanted to know if it is do-able on shared land?
I suspect that you are going to discover that the garden forms part of the common parts of the freehold property. If so, it isn't likely to be possible.
You will need planning permission and you will need the permission of the freeholder. How do-able it is depends on your landlord and your planning department.
