charging a flat mate for damage done
43 Answers
My current flat mate is moving out at the end of this month, and i've noticed over the months that she's lived here she's put a few scratches on my wooden floor, i'm not sure how the majority got there but i know that she dented my living room floor by throwing a playstation handset down in anger. Last week i told her could she be careful when she starts to move her stuff out as i don't want anymore marks on my floor. She did say sorry but i got the feeling she was pissed with me for telling her off. now just a few days later there's a big line going down her bedroom floor, which she hasn't said anything about. I get the feeling she's done it on purpose out of jealousy and because i told her off. I think i should charge her for the damage, but haven't any idea how much. any suggestions would be appreciated xx

Any old colour filler will leave a coloured filler line across the floor.
She could do better by selecting a coloured filler or dying some to match.
If laminated, there is not much hope of hiding. Just an approximation of colour with filler. If you sand a laminated pre-finished floor, what do you think happens?

yes, maybe i shouldn't have posted them both together. I was just feeling really upset about her, i think i was trying to make myself feel better.
I said about hair removal as i wanted to give you an example about how she reacts to something that goes well for me, in this case not looking like a man. pmsl!
It's solid wood. It can be sanded down but only a few times, as i've only been living here for a 1 year i don't really want to do it yet.

omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 i didn't realize i could do that!!!! the site manager told me about this thing called ozzy which is like a dye that you can put over a mark on a wood floor and it will help hide it up, but you cant do it if it is a deep scratch. Do you think that if i use filler, sand it down then put the ozzy stuf over the top it will work?
