I posted the other day that we were thinking of moving to Wellingborough. A few of you said it was a dump......you were right! Went and had a good look round and didn't like what we saw!
What do you think of Rushden?

im glad i dont live in wellingborough, surely not all of it is a dump ?
I've always found Rushden to be rather depressing.

Does it have to be Northamptonshire? St Neots in Cambridgeshire is roughly the same distance from London, with direct trains to Kings Cross taking just 42 minutes. It's quite a pleasant little town and much nicer than most of the towns which offer commuting possibilities in Northants.

St Neots is nice but we won't get much house for our money there at the moment.
It was me that said Wellingborough was a dump. I don't think I've been to Rushden.

What about Northampton? Have you looked there?

Thanks for the link jack but upmystreet is more up to date.
You still haven't confirmed whether your husband will be travelling by road or rail...........
Where do you need to be near to or commuting too? Rushden used to be really dull, but I haven't been there in years and years.
I know some people who live in Rushden...they are dull..
Question Author
Sorry Jack....travelling by rail. We have friends living in Rushden and they love it there.(They are not dull!). Looking at Northampton soon ummm. Where (roughly) do you live?

I like it here. We've got the Wellingborough Road that leads from that park to town and is full of pubs, restaurants and designer shops.
You have Northampton - Euston and Kettering/Wellingborough - St.Pancras train-lines to choose from.

In addition to the 'big' towns;

Earls Barton
Great Doddington
Irchester
Finedon
Irthingborough
Burton Latimer
Barton Seagrave
Higham Ferrers
Stanwick
Raunds
Ringstead
Thrapston
The Addingtons
The Harrowdens..........

All within easy reach of the rail-stations.
