When our washing machine is running a bad smell comes from it, We've tried several products but nothing seems to solve the problem. Any ideas? the machine is a Bosch. Our neighbour has the same problem. Her machine is also a Bosch...x
I would say it's degraded powder residue in the bottom of the drawer opening and drum inlet. Best way is to take out the whole drawer unit .. inner and outer from top under cover and clean out that and the rubber inlet pipe/trap with a bottle brush and flash with bleach.
Often they small when machine starts to pump out. This is a 'slug' of smelly air from the drain system. Same goes for that. I don't think there's an easy way.
Only chance is a very hot wash with a bit of bleach in the water. Rinse afterwards and reclean door seal completely <-- important.
Run your machine empty, with bleach (to shift any mould) and a 90 boil wash to kill bacteria. Along with the old brush in the crevices, it really is the only way.
