Can anyone tell me, please, if the saucepans which you have to use on induction hobs are heavy? As I am thinking of getting an induction hob and will require new saucepans which have to have a magnetic bottoms and I am unable to get out to try them and if they are heavy, as I am an old lady (89), I wouldn't be able to lift them and I will have to think again. Thank you so much. Hollytree

No, not heavy at all, unless you choose to buy heavier ones.
Mine are average weight, not cheap and nasty lightweight nor cast iron heavy weights.
Easily manageable.
These are mine:

i don't think the pans have to be magnetic - isn't it the hob that is?
The hob will only work with saucepans that a magnet will stick to.
I know they are heavy but you can't beat Le Cruset, they are dogs! Things really do cook well. A good time to buy them is post Christmas when Debenhams have their sale.
According to the December Which? reports i have read, le creuset 16cm pan ranked near the bottom and it was 10 times the price and three times the weight , but people liked the looks of them ,
The top ones best buy and value for money were the supermarket own brands Asda , Tesco and Morrisons but you would have to do your own research as to which ones are suitable for an induction hob . coupled with the price difference of £7 vs £70 The choice is yours ........
