Can any one tel me the difference between analogue and digital Walkie Talkies?
I know Digital are a lot better quality and have a further range but how?

digital is easier to pick up because analouge is a signal that goes from 0 to max whereas in digital one analouge instance is represented by a digital number like 10101 that consists of only 0 and 1 so the receiver only has to detect the difference between 0 and max (or probably +max and -max) making it more reliable and therefore a greater range. this applys for all digital equipment. example. if i copy a cassette and then recopy the copy then recopy the copy of copy and so fourth in the end the 5th cassette will sound very bad because of a build up of intrference and degradation of the signal whereas a CD an be copyed to the thousandth CD nad sound the same as the original.

another good point on digital walkie talkie is that codes can be implemented preventing eavedropping or to increase the number of users per channel
