Hi, i got this game for the Game Cube today and I played it for a few hours before I stopped.  The game doesn't seem to have saved - i presumed when a box saying 'new diary entry' popped up, that was the game automatically saving itself, but it appears not.  So i've had to start all over again and I can't find a 'save game' option *anywhere* on the menus.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

i don't know this particular game, but it's very common for console games to have save locations within the game itself, e.g. at the end of a dungeon. They are often represented by a particular object or person in the game. You can only save your progress at these points, so exiting the game before you reach one will send you back to the beginning as you have experienced. It's annoying when you don't have hours to spend completing a section, but there you go.
