I am thinking of having a car boot sale, as I've been having a clearout. Only thing is, I don't have a table to sell my items on.

Do Carboot venue's normally provide tables?

no. I've got neither.

I am wondering whether I should buy one.
only if you can buy one dirt cheap. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on one as it defeats the object of doing a car boot sale doesn't it? By the time you've paid for the pitch, and the table...will it be worth doing one?

Can you borrow one from someone?

If the worst comes to the worst, i'd be tempted to just spread an old blanket on the floor in front of your car and sell stuff from there. Keep an eagle eye on your stuff ,as things WILL get nicked given the opportunity and beware the dealers who descend on you like locusts as soon as you arrive.
I wouldn't worry about it. They'll be rooking through your boot before you have even parked the car.
Get there early enough and the vultures will try to take it from your car for you- you may not need a table.
a tenner? Nu huh, wouldn't bother. Lets say your pitch is a fiver, you'll have to make at least 15 quid before you start making profit. Not worth it.
Barricade yourself between your boot and the table, a did a car boot sale in Cardiff and I feared for my life! They were pulling out my stuff from the boot themselves and stealing so much right in front of my eyes!

I cried through most of it! I never did another lol!

When you arrive people will decend on your car to get the "bargains" (even before you have unloaded).

Just get out the car, lock it, walk away (maybe get a cup of tea), and leave it for 10 minutes.

Then more cars will arrive and the vultures will decend on their cars, leaving you to go back to your car and unload in relative peace.
on a more positive note muchlovex - I've done a lot of boot sales - on my own - and simply refused to open my vehicle uil I had some space - told them all to come back in 15 minutes after I'd set up - never had a problem - good luck and if you don't have a table, get some blankets etc and lay it out on the ground.
Some have table some do not. You have to telephone and ask the organisers first. I bought 2 wallpaper decorating tables at a local DIY and they were great. Enjoy the car boot. I love them as a seller and a buyer. (I'm a shopoholic!).
