Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for an item to show as delivered on the tracker service from when it is actually delivered?

I am having a parcel delivered to work by 6.30 and I've left a note on the door to say where to leave it but I don't want to go all the way over there to find it isn't there. I've just got a feeling it's not going to show up today.

Normally almost instantly, as the driver will key in the details to a hand held device which is connected to a mobile phone/satelite system. Normally, if they say it will be there on a certain day, it will get there. I have a lot of goods delivered and sometimes the delivery is not until 6pm. Some carriers will not leave a package without written permission to the depot beforehand, but I think hdnl ( now called " Yodel?") are o.k to leave stuff anywhere. you can phone the local depot and ask for a progress report, google hdnl and your nearest large towm and you will find the local depot number.

When I placed the order I left instructions for the driver to either leave it with another unit or behind a bin but I know the other units will be closed now so just hoping he leaves it behind the bin. I got a text this morning saying it should arrive between 15.24 and 18.24 (not sure why down to precise minutes). I've just called the depot and it hasn't been delivered yet but said they are out until 7 so will just keep checking.

Well 20 minutes ago I called back as the tracker still said it was out for delivery to be told the driver thought there was nobody home so he took it back. So my very clear instructions were just completely ignored and I am totally peed off!
