Anybody have an idea why after an electric cut it takes ages and loads of pressing the button of the automatic gates for the gate to eventually open. Normally I press once and that's it but after a cut it can take a couple of minutes of pressing the button.

look in the manual they came with ?
Presumably this also happens on initial switch-on, and if you temporarily switch off the power to the gates. I would consider that there's something in the electronic circuitry that takes time to charge up before the gate mechanism can operate. If you have the manufacturers name, call and ask them.
Is it wire operated or remote control? if remote it might need re-syncing, check the manual on how to do this.
Try disconnecting the power again for a few minutes then reconnecting. This will reset the control circuit which may have been 'confused' by a glitch in the power line as the power came back.

Thank you but no longer have the instructions which went with the gates! Igglepiggle it's remote control. I've noticed if I do keep clicking it's fine but does help if I disconnect the fuse!!! Strange...
