I'm just wondering is there a way using Word 2003 in which I can print a page so that it comes out onto four A3 pages so that they can then be assmbled together to have the one page printed as the larger size?

I have a program called Posteriza which is free and came from

www.posteriza.com

Can it not be done in printer properties?
what size do you want the end print to be?
No sign of that option in Word 2003

As I say mcfluff, maybe the size of four A3 pages. I think it is called A2 but not sure. Each page would need to have a different section of the original and when the four are put together it would combine to the original document on a larger scale.
if howards programe doesnt work...you could perhaps print it on normal a4, cut into quarters, scan back in and resize as a jpegs in a paint package, then reprint ...
can you print to A2 or do you plan to stick the 4 a3 pages together?

Howard, if I use posteria, can I import my Word document into it and print it off or do I have to create the whole thing in the posteria programme?
Question Author
I would be joining the A3 pages together to give the effect of A2 mcfluff.
There is a poster option in publisher..if you have it and its easy to copy and paste into it
I haven't used it much. You may have to print your document then scan it to create an image file. You can then import this into Posteriza and expand.

Thanks rowanwitch, I do have it so I'll have a look.
That would be A1 size.

I can send A1 PDFs via e-mail to a local print shop and ask them to print them out. It costs me slightly less than £2 when I collect them.
For JtH

That is very cheap! I got charged £7 for 1 A2 colour print in a walk-in print shop.
That's a point.
Mine are simply black ink on white paper.

G2C2C - Do you need colour or just B&W?
i've been messing around with word and it will be a right pain to do and probably not that good a result, think jacks idea is the best
Question Author
Black and white would be fine but I would like to try and do something myself. I'll bet there is a way to do it.
yes you can do it. you will have to copy each quarter and print that to a3 then stick them together, depending on what you are doing wikll depend on how easy that will be
Question Author
mcfluff, you just gave me an idea. If there was a way to take to word document and quarter it into four seperate pages, then print each one off individually, that might work.
Does your printer accept A3 paper?
Check your printer carriage extents.
I bought a printer that will accept A2 size paper, but it stops printing a good 6 inches before the 'long edge'.......so it's 'not really' an A2 printer.
