I have had trouble with my phone for a boit two weeks now and cannot talk to anyone at talktalk. Whenever i ring i get an automated line asking me to pres one for this etc etc. I have filled in a form on the internet and they sent me an incomprehensible list of things to check and a number to ring to "talk" to their engineers dept and i got the same automated list. Does anyone know how to make talktalk actually talk!!!!!!!!!!! Janet

Quantum physics is easier.................
they are not a good service provider, then again who is..
no they are rubbish , a relative had a fault and Talktalk would only accept the fault report if it was made on the faulty phone, Fred Karno eat your heart out.

OOH LOTS OF UNHAPPY PEEPS AT TALKTALK

Thank you sunnydave will certainly log on to that one and joker of course i went to the end of the automated message but there is no option to talk to a real person. Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer x Janet
You are not the first one
This appears to be quite a big problem for TT - almost all of any of my friends who are with them are in the same predicament
I have managed occasionally to get through to them but I'm afraid I then don't understand what they're saying and it appears to be mutual.
I've had no problems with TalkTalk and have found them excellent and have managed to talk to a person on the odd occasion I have needed to. They even texted me to check I was satisfied afterwards.
well 'joker' i may be 'gannet'...but i have never had a problem speaking to them...

perhaps its just you...
I did hear ( might be an urban myth) that if you press the hash button each time an automated vetting system asks a question after 3 times it knackers it and you get a real person, it works with the halifax.
if you do finally get through i would cancel with them, they used to send me bills for something i never had.

Ladybirder and joko it would have been more use it you had told me exactly how you managed to talk to them because the automated system certainly does not give you that option. I am 77 years old and need my phone and am at my wits end
if you hadn't been rude to me ... i would do...
I can't remember but I would have gone through the usual channels. In the 3 years I have been with them I have probably phoned them only twice and they have sorted my problem. Sorry your experience has been different to mine.
Try 0800 0491002 or 01925 556486, according to my information you should get straight through to a human being.

Thank you Karl its midnight now but i will certainly try the numbers tomorrow. Joko i keep reading what i put and i cannot see where i was rude to you and if you think i was I apologise, I am never intentionally rude to anyone - although I might be tempted to break the habit of a life time when I eventually get through to talktalk lol , thanks all for your help x Janet
