Lyrics to a song.

I just had a holiday in France and whilst driving down through France we were picking up different radio stations at one point the missus said "whats that" pointing at the radio, and the word f**k was clearly displayed where the frequency/raqdio station normally is then the word changed to something else, it turns out we were listening to "Nostalgi" and some of the lyrics to songs appear on the radio, so how do the do this and why dont they do it over here.?

They do. It's available on RDS radios. It's up to the station to decide what, if anything they transmit.
