Do you think it should be obligatory to award a best answer?

I don't know how it would work but it's really irritating when people say,'Thanks all.' Having said that I do it myself. Doh!

You just click on another one, danny, and it changes.

Ho danny- the person who set the question simply selects another answer as Best Answer and that replaces the previous best answer.
Show him it works, Tilly2.

Sorry Tilly.Bit thick this morning but once a best answer has been selected the Best Answer strip is no longer on the post so where would I have to click?

danny- are you looking at one of your own questions? The best answer tab remains even after you've selected one.
You never see the 'best answer' tab though if it's someone else's thread

'Best Answer' is a reflection on the ability of the OP to recognise the brilliance of the contributor . . . which is why I rarely find myself featured there. :o/
