My husband received about £200 less than usual in his November pay as the I.R had accidentally calculated that he has 2 company cars instead of 1! (Just an overpayment for one month.)
He called them and they said they would make the relevant adjustment. What he didn't ask was would they put the £200 onto his December pay or will it be spread over the next year, which would be very annoying as we could definitely do with it for this most expensive month of the year.
Does anyone know?

Did he get a notice of coding about the 2 cars? If so he will have to wait until they issue him with a revised code before his employer can rectify the situation. HMRC sadly take longer to correct things than they do to implement them...
They mucked mine up when I retired and corrected the next month.

Yes Boxtops he has had notice of the revised code....surprisingly quickly!
Then if his employer is on the ball he should get it back next payday. If they are slow the one after.
