Deodorants don't stop sweating - anti-perspirants do this job, but marketing makes us think they are the same product. Anti-perspirants block the pores with very small particles so that the sweat cannot get out. People who are very prone to sweating often find that heavy use of anti-perspirant on their armpits will simply move the sweat to their back. Using some on their back will cause sweat from the forehead and so on, as the body needs to sweat in order to cool down. I don't know what the effect of covering the whole body would be, but I imagine it would be very unhealthy.
