Just come across my old Realistic Pro-32 scanner which I used a lot years ago. My question is...will I still be able to receive 'broadcasts' on it... I know most things are digital now....but before I dispose of it I wanted to know if there is a chance? Cheers for any replies.

Only commercial broadcasters are gradually switching over to DAB (or DAB+) transmissions. Taxi companies, yachtsmen, rail station staff, crane drivers, etc, etc all continue to use FM radios.

My Realistic Pro-41 (which is very similar to your own scanner but probably covers slightly different frequency ranges) still picks up all of the ship-to-shore communications when I take it down to Harwich harbour.

£7.99 will get you an up-to-date list of frequencies:

One sure way to find out.
Thanks for your answers esp Buenchico, will have to try at least though not sure I want to fork out the money and find it's a no go.
