Miele S2111 Vacuum

I am trying to open up this machine, having taken out all visible screws along with easily removable upper hinged parts, the two halves will only separate by 15 mm or so. It's as though there's a hidden catch or screws somewhere. Any help please, I'm a retired engineer, used to dismantling things, but this one has beaten me!

It looks as if you have to literally rip it apart Haway. Brute force after taking the 5 screws out.

Haha. What was the problem with the Meile?
When we still had our dog I had a problem with the brush not turning on the Dyson(DC59). I thought it must be a belt or motor problem(a little dc motor for the brush) so stripped it down. It turned out to be dog hair had packed tight into the nylon bearing and jammed it solid. Took me an age to pick it out with a dentist's Sickle Probe. She was a Bearded Collie/Blue Merle with a long coat. Mare.

The switch is available as a spare part. Not a cheapie mind. Other sites sell them for about £21 but this site gives you a part no.

Hi Togo, all done, just an awful lot of dirt and dust, half a kilo of rubble in the bag, switch OK after some switch cleaner, the assembly with the switch pad and the cord winder, without that video, I would never have applied so much effort to remove it, talk about vorsprung dur technik, it's built to survive a nuclear war!!!
Anyway, a good clean, as good as new, I'll tell my son not to let builders near it...
