The strap on her indoor's Fit Bit broke so she replaced it with another Fit bit , but a different model I.e. same make

When the new model was set up the database is showing steps already on it

Is it likely that the new one is a used one i.e. Someone has used it and brought it back to the shop ; and then it has been sold to her indoors ; or do you think it's the data from her previous one that is showing on the new one ?

Where is the data stored ?

Know now't about fitbits but a returned one would be my guess. But if the data is stored on a PC or server it could be her own, reloaded. Does the info look like what she had done previously ?
