Just had an email to say my parcel is on it's way. The driver is in my area but has 51 deliveries before he reaches me. What time do you think he will reach me?

Maybe they are Ken. We debated long and hard about getting deliveries when we’re out as it was stopping us ordering stuff. Quite happy now.

I’m surprised they don’t give you both the number of deliveries before yours AND the estimated delivery time: DPD do. I have worked out that you can allow around 4 min per prior delivery - but that is likely to vary depending on the location

Delivery drivers need to plan an order of deliveries that is most efficient for them.

A shorter overall distance doesn't always mean a shorter overall time and it might involve compromises.

That means that even though the driver was showing as being near your address, it was more efficient to drive away from it, arrive at yours later and then carry on to any remaining addresses.

I had a parcel from Yodel and they texted me with an hour wide time slot, as do Hermes. Parcels mormally arrive within the times given, sometimes it is two hours.

Hermes generally give me a two hour window on parcels, as they did the other day.

I don't think anyone has won, the parcel arrived at 11am would you believe. When I last looked, he was miles away and then hey presto he was here. :-)

What might be a plan for the future is to leave a box with the word parcels on it outside your front door. He would leave it there in the dry while you are out, you will not be away from it for too long.
