When lithium power tool batteries  batteries are fully charged, does it do any harm to leave them in the 'switched off charger'? as once before I just turned off a car battery charger at the wall and left connected for a few days only to find when I needed it the battery was more dead than when I put it on charge. Thanks for any advice

If a charger drains a battery, I'd suspect a faulty charger or a faulty battery.

You can normally leave batteries on the charger because they turn themselves off. The wall car charger is different from a power tool charger.

Further, it is safe to leave a battery in a charger overnight, but the advise is not for a longer period of time.

never leave a battery on charge overnight, big fire risk.

Thanks all for your help I must hang about and find something else to do while they're charging. William51 I don't know if you mean 'electric car' charger when you mention wall charger but I'm thinking of the usual car battery charger. Once again thanks all.
