It stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha. Roughly translated it means Yoshida company Limited.

My brother-in-law used to be a quality control officer for a clothing catalogue and once went to visit YKK zips as they'd had some that failed their tests and would you believe - they were fake! I can understand someone bothering to make fake chanel handbags or whatever - but fake YKK zips??!!!!
