You could holiday in Greenland or the Arctic (only kidding )
I find using baby powder helps (not talc as it clogs the pores)
Cornstarch!
Don't go there
I've suffered for years with prickly heat when holidaying abroad, and a friend recommended using a sun cream (suntan lotion) that doesn't contain any water. I found some in local cheapo stores, Poundstretcher and others, think the brand was called Malibu, smells of coconut anyway, and I tried it in Rhodes this year. After a few days I had no heat rash at all, and got really brave one day and went for a walk without a shirt on, in the midday sun...madness for me under normal circumstances....and had no bad reaction at all. I guess the oils I'd been using before contained water, which blocked the pores in my skin, causing the trouble. It works for me anyway. Good luck.
p.s. I've read here on AB that prickly heat is a variant of malaria, whether that's strictly true or not, I don'tknow!
Sulpher tablets from your local health food shop work a treat.Pop in and ask the middle aged lady who will be more than happy to blah on about the homeopathic healing properties of sulpher. They smell like rotten eggs, but stop you scratching like a dog
It is medically known as miliaria
Hi Bantams73,

I also suffer from prickely heat really badly and have done for years. What I was told to do was to take anti-hystamines 5 days before you go on holiday and when you're away you won't get it anymore as long as you're sensible. You don't have to pay for a full prescription price, try one of the supermarkets own products for the likes of hayfever or allergies, it works a treat and you can pick them up for about 2 quid - hope this helps!
