combination lock - case won't shut now!

hi there,

i had a combination lock case and then got a new one, so never used the other one again. it has been on top of my wardrobe for about 8 years full of junk, but it was never properly shut.

i have tried to to use it again, but it won't close at all and i cannot remember the code - tried all i can think of.

the two metal catches just stay up instead of going into the slots

is there a standard way to to reset these codes when the case is open?

obviously i know you can't when its shut, but there must be a way to change the combination now

Hi Joko,

If the case is as bought i.e.if you haven't changed the code, it will probably be 0000 or 1234 something simple.My 2 cases were 0000.

Hi, my cases have a little hole next to the digits....you push something into it [a pen nib] and this allows you to change the combination.

Well you could try every combination......

However there is usually a button/lever on the back of the lock that you hold down/switch while you are resetting the combination then release/switch back when you have finished.

Don't forget to test before shutting properly....

oh dear **************, might I suggest you read the question again properly... a struggle for you, I know, but do try - you only make yourself look like an imbecile if you talk crap the whole time.

Though if you know where I can get a reinforced, hard body suitcase that has a combination lock BUILT IN - LIKE THE ONE I HAVE GOT NOW! - for only �1.99, then do let me know - I may even purchase 2 of them...

yea am sorry about that got a bit extreemly to drunk last night and a bit carried away think that I must have thought it was just a �1.99 padlock but am paying for it now with one almighty hangover serves me right i know anyway will have to try a hair of the dog now and will be a bit mor carefull what I say on here in future cheers and a happy new year to ya all...........
